Whoppers monster!
Gabie is such a whoppers monster! She loves WHOPPERS! Thanks to her Tita Tessa who introduced her to those yummy, malted milk balls. Bad aunt! Hehehehe!
Here she is stuffing her face at 10:30 in the evening!
Gobble! Gobble!
By the way, her Tita Tessa is so thrilled since she now says TESSA very clear in her cute little voice.

Mama's toe mishap
WARNING: THIS ENTRY COMES WITH GRAPHIC, GROSS PHOTOS OF A BADLY BRUISED TOE! (Pierre, I warned you!)
(This is my toe the following morning after the accident! Take note of how it looks! Then, checkout the picture of my toe at the end of the day!)
This is the story of the toe: After a long day of shopping in the States, we were all unloading the van. I grabbed the big diaper bag of Gabie, plus the video camera bag. So, I then proceeded to step out of the van! KABLAAMMMM! I suddenly smashed into the cement pavement! My ass connecting to the floor so fast I didn't even realize it 'til I was on the ground. Max, Lex, my parents, & Gabie looked at me in horror since I made such a loud sound. I'm really such a klutz!!! Apparently, the long strap of the video camera bag got hooked on the heel of my shoe! Of course, I didn't know that when I was trying to get off the van. Thank God I wasn't carrying Gabie. Everyone started fawning over me, wondering if I was okay. I quickly assured them that it was nothing. And I dust myself off the floor & pretend nothing hurts. All the while, my freaking pinky toe is throbbing! I guess, my toe must have gotten bent when I fell. Anyway, Max tells me to put some ice on it. Of course, I ignore this advice thinking that the pain will just go away!
Hello, I wake up the next day and my toe is painful, really swollen and has doubled in size! Max starts insisting I should go to the hospital! He thinks at this point I have broken my toe! I refuse the hospital, saying it's nothing.
Again, we leave the house for a full day of shopping. Walking becomes quite a task. Actually, my walk was more like dragging my right foot! Hahahaha! As the day progresses, my toe got nastier looking! The color quickly turned purplish black! It was quite amazing how fast the color changed.
Here is the photo of my toe by the end of the day: (Check out that lovely color! Oh, pls. excuse my toenails. I was planning to cut them, but never had the chance! Hehehehe!)
We went to Max's cousins house that night. Luckily, Annalyn (wife of Max's cousin) happens to be a nurse! Take note, she is a nurse & she freaked when she saw my toe. Her face was priceless. All the cousins started laughing. Annalyn was such a savior! She quickly bandaged my toe & told me what to do!
She said if I went to the hospital, they would have done the same thing even if it was broken.
Now the question is - did I break my toe?
I think it was broken! The accident happened about 2 months ago, and until now, my toe still looks funny! Hehehe!

Surviving our family vacation in the US
When my parents told us that our whole family was going on a vacation in the US, I got excited! Wow, it was going to be the first vacation of Gabie outside the Philippines! How exciting for her. No problem with the nanny, since my parents were willing to take her too. Uhm, then the awful news hits us. The nanny got denied a US visa. Horrors! I'm thinking, can I handle my very rambunctious child for 3 plus weeks. I had no choice dahlings. I had to deal with it. This was surely going to be a true test of my parenting skills. Hehehe!
My biggest worry was the long flight. I frantically started to ask around, what was the best way to tame Gabie while flying the friendly skies. I was imagining all these worse scenarios flying with a 14 month old for 13+ hours. Her pediatrician, Dr. Bong didn't believe in any cold medicine or anything to make her sleepy. In other words, I and the rest of the passengers would have to deal with her if ever she makes a scene. As luck would have it, Gabie was an absolute angel! She was such a behaved little girl. It was truly unbelievable.
Gabie had the time of her life in the States! Everything was new and exciting for her. As for Max & I, we also enjoyed the trip immensely plus we got to bond big time with our child. Gabie also got to bond with the entire Alindogan family. Her Lolo Nonoy & Lola Cory were beside themselves whenever she would enter their room for some playtime.
Granted, Max & I were more tired but it was all well worth it. I learned to shop quickly! Panic buying was more like it since Gabie would require my attention. Hahaha! Max also became an expert diaper changer. Hahahaha! All in all, it was a great experience. I'm also really lucky since Max was such a big, big help!
